Best Board and Card Games for Small Kids

Of course kids like Hungry Hungry Hippos, Guess Who, Loopin' Louie, Go Fish, Chutes and Ladders, and Candy Land, but these are games that gamer parents would be more interested in. My kids are 6 and 4 and love and grasp these. Also, check out my lists for board games, co-op games, two-player gamesfiller games, and party games.

Monster Chase
A co-op memory game where a monster pops out and you have to flip the tile of the toy that the monster is afraid of.

Wig Out
A race to lay down matches of people with silly hair. Another race/match game kids like is Loonacy.

Dweebies
Place the Dweebies in rows and columns, but if you make a match on the ends of a line, take everything in between.

Nada
Roll a handful of dice and be the first to spot cross-color matches. Then keep those and roll some more.

Doodle Dice
Roll the dice and try to claim a card by recreating the picture on it with the dice.

Hisss
Draw a snake tile, connect to one of the same color, and try to complete a snake.

Hoot Owl Hoot
Work together to get the owls back to their nest before sunrise. Kind of like a Candy Land with actual strategy.

Outfoxed
A fun game where kids work together and use logical deduction to find the bad guy.

Zombie Kidz
A simple so-op game where kids work together and plan ahead to kick zombies out of the cemetery.

Rhino Hero
A dexterity game about building a skyscraper out of cards and not being the one to knock it over!
